#100WordHorror ★ L. A. Cunningham

You locked the doors and windows… But I was already inside.
As the clock struck twelve and the final bell tolled and faded into the night, an expectant hush fell over the house. The witching hour had arrived.

A slow creek of an ancient key broke the silence as the door on the grandfather clock opened a crack.

Four long gnarled fingers wrapped around the polished oak as I pushed my way into the room and slithered into the shadows.

I could hear your daughter’s tiny little heart beating upstairs as she slept.

Another house.

Another night.

Another missing child.★

L. A. Cunningham mainly writes urban and dark fantasy, but likes to dabble in horror and poetry. She is a lover all things ominous and telling the kind of stories that make your palms sweat and your heart race.

My novel, Trigram, is in the works, but in the meantime, I'll probably be working on short stories such as the ones on Wicked Shorts. (Wink)
