#100WordHorror ★ AloneAtNight (Grandpa's Chair)

halloween-fonts

My grandfather passed away when I was 8 and my little brother was 2 or 3ish. He had this big Lazy Boy chair in the living room that he always planted himself in.

Everyone knew this chair was "grandpa's chair."

Anyway, we went down to my grandparent's house in Florida for a long weekend to attend the funeral, etc. We're all chatting the first night there in the living room, and my mom was sitting in the Lazy Boy chair.

My little brother goes up to my mom and says "Grandpa wants his chair back." My mom asks him where grandpa is, thinking he probably didn't understand death, to which he responds, "he's right behind you."

My mom BOLTED off that chair immediately.★

AloneAtNight is a blog of short, creepy horror stories run / managed by David Kobb and Shawn Kobb. I recommend you read these tales with the lights on...

If you're not scared enough, check out David and Shawn's books: Terrifying Tales: 13 Scary Stories for ChildrenIt's sure to give you a chill, along with the second book in their series: More Terrifying Tales

Turn down the lights. Grab a flashlight, pull the blankets over your head, and prepare for a night of reading the scariest stories around.

Just repeat to yourself, "It's only make believe."

And, whatever you do, make sure you keep the closet door closed.

Why is your reflection in the mirror moving without you? What stalks the corn maze and will a group of friends make it out alive? Can you handle the bravery test and visit 13 cemeteries in one night? What would you do if you found a mysterious eye looking at you from the drain in your garage? All of these stories and more are hidden in the dark corners of More Terrifying Tales from the same authors that brought you Terrifying Tales: 13 Scary Stories for Children. Good luck...
